The Third Shilaturrahim Visit and the ‘Ngopi’ Motivation from Ustadz Derry Sulaiman

A warm atmosphere enveloped the shilaturrahim (friendly gathering) activity called ‘Ngopi’ (ngobrol perkara iman – chatting about matters of faith) and an Inspirational Talk with Ustadz Derry Sulaiman. The event was held at Kobarin Cafe (an entrepreneurial education facility for fostered children) in Istana Yatim (Orphan Palace) of the Rindang Indonesia Foundation in Jatimakmur, Pondokgede, Bekasi City, on Friday (November 14, 2025).

The event with the foundation’s management and community members was full of intimacy, jokes, and heartwarming messages of goodness. On the occasion of this third shilaturrahim visit, Ustadz Derry delivered soft yet penetrating dakwah (preaching) motivation, inviting all participants to continuously draw closer to Allah, guard their hearts, and make life a field for good deeds.

The former rocker, who is currently viral on social media, also reminded everyone that every human being has a great chance to become better every day, provided they are willing to start with simple things with a sincere intention.

“My orphaned and underprivileged children of the Rindang Indonesia Foundation, insha Allah (God willing), you will become pious children, inhabitants of heaven, as long as you focus on memorizing the Quran and do not forget to reflect on and practice it. May my children become spreaders and preachers of goodness,” Derry advised.

“For the good people who have helped you, pray for their sins to be forgiven and for them to continue bringing benefit to many people,” he added.

Also joining to liven up the event was the Minang-born artist, Kak Ratu Frisillia Menes, affectionately known as Ratu Sikumbang. Her presence brought a distinct color to the orphaned children. With her friendly smile and signature warmth, Kak Ratu also provided encouragement and moral support for the children to remain confident, study diligently, and dare to dream big.

“Keep the spirit up, maintain health, and study hard, stay united, my orphaned siblings of the Rindang Indonesia Foundation. Most importantly, don’t forget that worship is number one. Success for all,” she motivated the orphaned children.

The event concluded with a joint prayer for blessings, along with the hope that such activities would become routine as a space for silaturahim, spiritual development, and encouragement for the extended family of the Rindang Indonesia Foundation.
